However, industrial switches using the enhanced RSTP ring redundancy protocol have several obvious advantages in use: there is almost no difference in operation between the standard RSTP protocol and the enhanced RSTP ring redundancy protocol. Engineers familiar with commercial switches can perform on-site installation and operation according to the instructions with little or no training. The private protocol redundancy mechanism generally requires setting the management master station and slave station through the switch hardware dial code, which is prone to errors during on-site installation and debugging; The enhanced RSTP ring redundancy protocol industrial switch does not require any hardware dialing operations, making on-site installation and debugging extremely convenient. However, due to the openness of Ethernet, the security of the enhanced RSTP ring redundancy protocol poses certain security risks. During the process of establishing a tunnel industrial ring network, construction personnel have to consider the factor of network security.

When selecting an industrial switch, users should select an industrial switch that supports 802.1Q VLAN functionality to facilitate the functional division of the network. Through VLAN partitioning, construction personnel can group and isolate devices within the network based on their functions to avoid malicious human damage or misoperation.
