What is the industrial poe switch

PoE Industrial Switch refers to the industrial Ethernet switch with PoE power supply, or the industrial PoE switch. Based on the existing industrial Ethernet switch, the industrial PoE switch provides power and data transmission for the terminal network equipment through the PoE power supply chip embedded in the network cable, realizes the PoE power supply scheduling for the terminal equipment, and provides more convenient and reliable transmission applications for the application field of the industrial network. According to the fact that the industrial PoE switches work at the corresponding level of the OSI reference model, the industrial PoE switches can be divided into three levels of industrial PoE switches, of which a large number of commercial industrial PoE switches are layer 2 and layer 3.

The layer 2 industrial PoE switch works in the second layer of the OSI reference model, and each port has its own conflict domain. If the layer 2 industrial PoE switch has virtual local area network (VLAN) function, each VLAN becomes a broadcast domain. The industrial PoE switch on the second layer forwards data frames in three ways: pass-through, store-and-forward and free segmentation.

The layer 3 industrial PoE switch forwards datagrams according to the destination IP address. Like the router, it must also create and dynamically maintain a routing table. However, the layer 3 industrial PoE switch can achieve "one routing, multiple switching". That is to say, the layer 3 industrial PoE switch can forward packets to different subnets and achieve faster switching than routing in subsequent communication.

The  layer 4 of industrial-grade PoE switch can interpret the transmission control protocol (TCP) and user datagram protocol (UDP) information of the fourth layer, allowing the device to assign its own priority to different applications (differentiated by port number). In this way, the layer 4 industrial PoE switch can "intelligently" process the data in the network, avoid congestion to the maximum extent, and improve bandwidth utilization.

4. The power supply end equipment of PoE switch will only supply power to the equipment that needs power supply. Only when the equipment that needs power supply is connected, the Ethernet cable will have voltage, thus eliminating the risk of electric leakage on the line;

5. Users can automatically and safely mix the original devices and PoE devices on the network, and these devices can coexist with the existing Ethernet cables;

6. In wireless LAN, PoE can simplify RF test tasks, and access points can be easily moved and accessed;
